1st STEP PREP Exterior Hardwood Finish Preparation
Penofin 1st STEP PREP for exterior hardwood is formulated to open the wood fibers of the surface and to ensure deep penetration of Penofin’s amazing natural hardwood finish. 1st Step Prep cleans, brightens, and eliminates the hard mill glaze found on most hardwoods. This allows Penofin to penetrate deeply into the dense wood species for ultimate protection and beauty.

Application Instructions
With plain water, thoroughly wet the surface and surrounding vegetation to remove dirt and avoid streaking. Apply 1st STEP PREP to the wet surface with a brush or pump-up sprayer. Allow to set for 15-30 minutes then rinse away with plain water while brushing with a stiff bristled brush. (DO NOT USE METAL OR STEEL WOOL.) Rinse again and allow to dry thoroughly before treating with PENOFIN EXOTIC HARDWOOD FORMULA. In extreme cases, two applications of 1st STEP PREP may be needed.
