Tongue-and-Groove Hardwood Decking
Tongue-and-groove hardwood profiles create a continuous surface with concealed board joints. These profiles are intended only for covered applications protected from direct weather exposure, including covered porches, ceilings, and soffits. They should not be used on open or uncovered decks.
Brazilian hardwood cladding is available in ventilated RainScreen and tongue-and-groove profiles. Real RainScreen is designed for exterior wall assemblies, while the tongue-and-groove profiles are intended for covered walls, ceilings, soffits, and other protected applications.
Wide hardwood boards provide a durable, finished appearance around band boards, joists, stair risers, and deck skirting. When these profiles are installed flat, proper fastening and airflow on all sides are important for reducing unwanted board movement and cupping.
