We work hard to keep our premium inventory truly premium. That means pulling out boards that do not meet our highest standards, even when they are still usable for the right project.
These clearance boards may have issues like waves, warping, checking, cracks, stains, chatter, or other milling defects. Instead of mixing them into our premium stock, we separate them and offer them at a heavily discounted price.
In many cases, these boards are a great fit for projects where shorter lengths, field trimming, or jobsite straightening are already part of the plan. We want to be clear about what these boards are, what to expect, and where they work best.

Best Fit Applications
Seconds and shorts are often a smart choice when the job does not require long, furniture-grade boards. These products are commonly used where cutting down material, working around defects, or straightening boards during install makes sense.
Treehouses
Great where shorter pieces and rugged character are perfectly acceptable.
Fences
A strong use for discounted hardwood boards, especially when boards are cut to size.
Retaining Walls
A practical application where appearance is often less important than durability.
Bulkheads and Seawalls
A good fit for tough-use projects where hardwood performance still matters.
Ground Contact and Landscaping
Useful for landscape structures, borders, and other cut-to-fit exterior work.
Short-Length Decking Projects
Especially helpful when boards can be cut to 4′, 6′, or 8′ lengths.
