Cumaru (pronounced Koo-Mah-Roo) is world-renowned for its superior characteristics and properties. You may have heard of Ipe’s incredible hardness, durability, and longevity- Cumaru is similar to Ipe in many ways and is often used interchangeably with Ipe. Cumaru is one of the hardest (commercially available) woods in the world which lends to its incredible durability and longevity. It is also naturally resistant to insect attack, mold, rot, fire and decay.
Garapa wood (Brazilian Oak) lumber has a lemon-yellow color that becomes light brown (honey) with age. Garapa hardwood has a slight ribbon-like natural design, appears watery or wavelike, similar to silk.
Typically, Garapa is a much more cost-effective alternative to Ipe, while still providing main benefits, longevity, durability, insect and fire resistance, and low maintenance.
Tigerwood (Muiracatiara) decking lumber is a beautiful exotic Brazilian hardwood that provides one of the most unique wood grain patterns you will ever see. Because of its incredible beauty, Tigerwood lumber it is highly sought after for both interior and exterior applications. Brazilian Tigerwood is named for it’s reddish/orange background with dark vein striping which gives it a tiger-like look. Tigerwood hardwood will darken slightly to a redder tone with exposure to sunlight.
Real Rain Screen™ installation requires furring strips fastened to exterior walls over a vapor barrier. Siding is fastened to furring strips – most commonly with 16” centers. Our coated aluminum H-clips are installed using our Magni 599 rust and saltwater resistant coated square drive screws. This installation provides channels in the walls, which allow the siding to breathe eliminating moisture and minimizing thermal transfer.
