my name is Sam with Brazilian Wood depo
and I’m really excited to tell you about
this new course that I recently
published it’s called eBay certified
it’s the first and only certification
program or course about eay and
Brazilian Hardwoods I originally made
this course and I presented it to
hundreds of Architects Landscape
Architects and designers but I’ve
modified that course so that it’s really
beneficial to homeowners uh contractors
uh it’s still relevant for Architects
and designers but I really wanted to
make sure that everybody could use this
course and benefit from it so it’s
called ePay certified but at the at the
start of the course it goes over an
introduction of seven total Brazilian
hardwood species because much of the
course is relevant to all of them not
just EP after the introduction to the
species we get into decking the it
starts with a a fairly long but very
interesting story about an early
application of EP in the United States
in the Atlantic City Boardwalk um after
that I like talk about what 1×6 and 5/4
X6 decking common decking profiles it
moves into dimensional uh dimensional
Lumber like 2x4s and 4x4s after that we
spend some time on siding and TNG
cladding there are two different
products that people don’t really
understand I don’t take a whole lot of
time on the siding and TNG cladding but
it’s important and then after that we
get into optimizing the performance of
Brazilian Hardwoods it’s an extremely
important part of the course it’s
probably the meat of the course and
really anybody who who is going to be
dealing with this whether it’s again at
their house or they’re they want to
become more involved in installing it as
a contractor it’s an absolutely uh must
have knowledge after optimization we
talk a lot about weathering and
maintenance I show you what products to
use there’s a lot of multimedia
throughout the course so there’s a lot
of videos of me using these types of
products after the weathering and
maintenance we go into directly into
sustainability these Brazilian Hardwoods
are totally misunderstood as it Rel
sustainability and I’m trying to set the
record straight on that it concludes the
course concludes rather with 20
questions and a final exam form and upon
uh passing the final exam you’ll be
issued your own certificate of
completion you will be ePay certified
and you really will have more knowledge
coming out of it than you had going in
and it it can help a lot of people make
decisions um about what to use what
species to use given the conditions uh
of their project so please check out the
course go through it um I really think
it’s engaging it’s very interactive and
I think you’ll enjoy it so I can’t wait
for you to take it thanks
Who is this course for?
This course was originally designed for Architects as an introduction to Ipe and Brazilian Hardwoods, but has been carefully modified to serve as a valuable education tool for Contractors, Homeowners, Landscape Architects, Engineers, Truth Seekers, and everyone in between.
No matter if you’ve been installing Ipe for over 30 years or just heard about it a few minutes ago, this course is a MUST-DO FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING AN IPE or Brazilian Hardwood project!
“What an amazing resource Sam has put together! Every Homeowner AND Industry Professional considering using Hardwoods for their Deck or Siding NEEDS this Certification!!!” -said someone at some point, I’m sure of it…
What Does this Course Cover?
IPEcertified covers a wide set of topics that most people are either unaware of or uninformed about as it relates to Exterior Use of Tropical Hardwoods, like Ipe. This course is broken into Six Sections; 1. Tropical Hardwoods: Species Introductions, 2. Decking and Lumber Profiles, 3. Deck Fastening: Surface and Hidden Fastening, 4. RainScreen Siding and T&G Cladding, 5. Optimizing Performance: It’s All About Air-Flow & Scoring Hardwoods: Species Vs. Conditions, and finally 6. Sustainability: Production and Post-Use, Deforestation, Economics and Enforcement.
At the end of the course, there is a Final Exam. Upon passing, you will be issued an IPEcertified Certificate of Completion!
IPEcertified Mini-Modules COMING SOON!
The main IPEcertified course is your “crash-course” into the exterior applications of Hardwoods. Mini-Modules will be much more application-specific and will include a deeper look at fastening options and their pros/cons and installation tips and tricks that every contractor, installer, and homeowner DIY’er will want to know!
About the Author of the Course
My name is Sam Hoover, with Brazilian Wood Depot! I am the author of this course. Over the last few years, I have provided live, in-person presentations about Brazilian Hardwoods to HUNDREDS of Architects, Landscape Architects and other Industry Professionals. I have been creating experienced-based, educational videos on YouTube for several years, as well. One day, I had this idea that what our customers AND contractors need is a “crash-course” about these woods that is engaging and immersive, but most importantly, going to get the important information without the “sales pitches” or the “fluff.” And that’s exactly what this course is!
If you’ve watched any of my YouTube videos, you will already know that I’m VERY passionate about Hardwoods, their myriad benefits, and their Super-Sustainable nature. If you haven’t seen any of my YouTube videos, strap-in! They are “required-reading” in this course.
I’m already working on a few IPEcertified Mini-Modules that will go into MUCH greater detail about installation tips and tricks, fastening deep-dives, and more! Standby for those!
