Description
Garapa Deck Tiles 24×24 are a premium, pre-assembled hardwood decking solution designed for rooftops, patios, balconies, and low ground-clearance applications where traditional framing is impractical. These modular tiles offer the warmth and durability of real hardwood while delivering installation flexibility not possible with standard boards. Learn more about modular systems on the Deck Tiles Resource Page.
Manufactured from all-natural Garapa hardwood (Brazilian Oak), each tile provides a refined, uniform appearance well suited for residential terraces and commercial outdoor spaces. Garapa is widely selected as a value-driven alternative to Ipe because it offers excellent durability, workability, and visual consistency at a lower price point than traditional Ipe Decking.
Pricing shown reflects single and small-quantity orders. For larger or commercial quantities, we recommend submitting a request through the quote form or contacting our team directly.
Designed for Rooftop & Low-Clearance Installations
Conventional decking relies on consistent airflow beneath boards to prevent moisture imbalance. In real-world conditions—such as rooftop membranes, concrete slabs, balconies, and low-clearance patios—proper airflow is often impossible. Garapa Deck Tiles are engineered specifically for these environments, making them a preferred solution for challenging substrates.
Each tile is built from eight precision-milled Garapa planks securely fastened to an integrated sub-structure using all stainless steel hardware, dramatically reducing the risk of cupping, twisting, and long-term movement. For a technical explanation of why tile systems outperform traditional decking in restricted-airflow environments, review the Ipe & Hardwood Drainage and Airflow Guide.
Garapa deck tiles can be installed directly over concrete, rooftop membranes, patios, balconies, grass, or pedestal systems, and they also perform exceptionally well when installed over standard deck framing. The same airflow principles discussed in the Drainage and Cupping Resource apply equally to Garapa and Ipe tile systems.

Strength, Durability & Fire Performance
Garapa is naturally resistant to rot, decay, insects, mold, and moisture, without chemical treatment. It is also scratch-resistant, easy to work with, and has an estimated 25-year service life, which can be extended further with proper maintenance. Because of this balance of durability and affordability, Garapa is one of the most popular decking species offered by Brazilian Wood Depot.
Garapa Deck Tiles achieve a Class B fire rating, making them suitable for many residential, multi-family, and light-commercial applications. These tiles are frequently used in rooftop terraces, residential patios, hospitality settings, and low-maintenance outdoor living areas, where performance and appearance must coexist.
Color, Character & Maintenance
Garapa wood features a natural lemon-yellow tone that matures into a warm honey-brown color with age. Its subtle ribbon-like grain has a silky, wavelike appearance and offers far less color variation than Ipe, creating a calmer and more uniform finished surface.
Maintenance is simple and optional. Left unfinished, Garapa will weather naturally; optional oiling enhances color depth and longevity. For proper cleaning, brightening, and oiling techniques, follow the Messmer’s Certified Cleaning & Oil Guide, which provides step-by-step care instructions for hardwood decking and tile systems.
